“The R3al Metaverse” is an animated parody that follows five NFT characters who move in together and experience life in Los Angeles. The cast members are drawn from five major NFT groups: Bored Ape Yacht Club, World of Women, Doodles, Cool Cats, and Robotos.

The short comedy, which was released in one- to two-minute episodes on social media, satirizes reality TV shows and controversy over NFTs. In one episode, the characters stare at a painting and are confused by its lack of “realistic application” besides being a wall adornment.

Unlike traditional media franchises, NFT groups are not entirely controlled by a single company. Each project contains thousands of individual NFT holders who often have their own marketing rights over their artwork. The Invisible Universe bought three NFTs and obtained licenses for two more to have characters that fit well in the story of “The R3al Metaverse,” Biggio previously told dot.LA.
