Only honest answers!

Do you use every app installed on your Android device? If not, why do you keep these unused apps installed?

You may not have thought about this before, but it does not go beyond the realm of potential to impair Android app development.

If that happens, the app could end up with exploitable vulnerabilities. If you keep this unused app on your phone, it will still be there, waiting to be exploited.

Or, maybe for you, it’s a simple matter of wanting more space on your phone and less clutter.

Either way, you should really remove those unused apps on your device. However, the prospect of removing them manually can be a bit daunting for some. Fortunately, the developers saw fit to include a simple tool to remove unused applications. This feature has found its way into the latest versions, and I’ll show you how to use it on Android 13.

On the resulting screen, you’ll see a list of all apps that haven’t been opened in the past three months, and below that, apps that haven’t been used in more than six months. To delete each app, simply tap on the relevant trash icon.

When prompted, click OK to remove the respective app. Do this until you remove all the unused apps that you are sure you will never need again.

This, of course, can be a little tricky. For example, I have certain apps on my phone that I rarely use, but need to keep installing them because I use them sometimes. However, these apps are frequently updated, so I know they don’t fall into vulnerabilities. Moreover, I am not in danger of running out of space on my phone. If either of those are the case, even those apps that I think I might use at some point should go.
